Seasoned Shrimp Cocktail

Shrimp Boil Cocktail - Prime Shrimp

Let's face it: classic shrimp cocktail is getting pretty boring. These days it seems like every dinner party and football Sunday has a plate of plain cocktail shrimp in the spread. Don’t get us wrong; we’re here for the shrimp representation! But the same old plastic tray of shrimp that were cooked on the other side of the planet 3 months ago and thawed out at the local grocery store is getting old. It’s time for an upgrade to the list of easy appetizers.

Who says shrimp cocktail needs to have plain shrimp? Why not season them up and add some flavor. Down here in New Orleans, it’s basically shrimp country. That said, we’d like to advocate for a Louisiana-flavor-inspired shrimp cocktail to mix things up.

With Prime Shrimp Louisiana Boil, you can easily make a flavorful shrimp cocktail featuring fresh-cooked shrimp and southern flavors. For extra easy hosting, cook and chill the shrimp the day before.

How to Make Shrimp Cocktail

After cooking a pouch of Prime Shrimp, shock it in an ice bath and then store it in your fridge. When it’s time to serve, all that’s left to do is open your bag and plate the shrimp. Easy appetizers don’t get simpler than this. Serve with your favorite store-bought cocktail sauce or make your own by mixing ketchup and horseradish with a dash of Worcestershire Sauce and a squeeze of lemon.

Pro Tip: The light broth that develops as the pouch is cooking is a flavor-packed shrimp stock. Add it into your cocktail sauce for a big boost!
