Imagine the rich aroma of cajun shrimp flooding your kitchen, blending with the classic scent of roasted vegetables and herbs. This stuffing is not just a side dish; it's a conversation starter. The cajun-seasoned shrimp adds a depth of flavor that's both unexpected and satisfying, while the classic bread, onion, red bell pepper, and celery provide that familiar, comforting base we all crave during the holidays.

Our Signature seasoned shrimp, inspired by cajun flavors, is the perfect choice for this recipe. The bold seasoning enhances the natural sweetness of the shrimp without overpowering the other ingredients. Plus, using our pre-seasoned shrimp saves you time and ensures a consistent, delicious flavor every time.

The preparation is simple with Prime Shrimp’s cook-in-pouch method. As with all great Thanksgiving dishes, this stuffing can be prepared ahead of time, allowing you to focus on other aspects of your holiday preparations. Simply assemble the stuffing the day before, refrigerate it overnight, and pop it in the oven on Thanksgiving Day. This makes it a convenient option for busy hosts who want to enjoy the holiday without spending all day in the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 pouch Prime Shrimp Signature

  • 2 cups croutons

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped

  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped

  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon dried sage (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, red bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the croutons with the sautéed vegetables.

  4. Cook the Cajun seasoned shrimp according to the package instructions. Once cooked, chill the shrimp in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes. Then, chop them into bite-sized pieces and add to the crouton and vegetable mixture.

  5. Pour the chicken or vegetable broth over the mixture, stirring gently to combine. The liquid should moisten the croutons without making them soggy. Add the thyme, sage, salt, and pepper, mixing well.

  6. Grease an oven-safe baking dish and transfer the stuffing mixture into it, spreading it evenly.

  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly crispy.

  8. Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
